Founder and Lead Data Scientist
Hernando is an applied economist with over a decade of experience in data analysis, econometrics, and impact evaluation. His work combines machine learning, causal inference, and cost-effectiveness analysis to help organizations turn complex data into actionable insights. He has advised governments, UN agencies, and private clients, including the World Bank, FAO, UNDP, UNICEF, and the Colombian Government.
He is currently an Associate Member of the Department of Social Policy and Intervention at the University of Oxford, where he lectures on machine learning and impact evaluation methods. Hernando holds a PhD from the George Washington University, an MPA from Cornell, and completed his postdoc at Oxford and Nuffield College.
Advisory Board Member — Poverty and Inequality
Lina is a Senior Economist at the World Bank’s Poverty and Equity Global Practice, where she leads research and impact evaluations on social programs, poverty, and inequality, with a strong focus on understanding gender gaps and the structural drivers of poverty across multiple dimensions. Her work spans Latin America, South Asia, and Sub-Saharan Africa, with ongoing projects in Colombia, India, Ghana, and Malawi.
She earned her Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Essex and an M.Sc. in Economics from University College London. Previously, she worked at the Institute for Fiscal Studies and the Central Bank of Colombia. Her research has been published in leading journals, including the Journal of Political Economy, Journal of Public Economics, and The Journal of Finance.
Advisory Board Member — Early Childhood Development
Jorge is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Applied Psychology at NYU Steinhardt and Director of the Catalyzing Action for Resilient Ecologies (CARE) Lab. His research sits at the intersection of developmental psychology, economics, and public health, focusing on child development, violence prevention, and the evaluation of parenting and early childhood programs.
He holds a Ph.D. from Harvard University and has worked as a Consultant for UNICEF, the World Bank, the IDB, and the Colombian government. His work has been published in leading journals, including The Lancet, Nature Human Behaviour, and Child Development.
Advisory Board Member — Sustainable Agriculture
Nicolas is an Associate Research Scientist and Lecturer at the Yale School of the Environment. His research focuses on climate services, sustainable food systems, and rural development in the Global South, integrating community-based knowledge into tools for climate risk management, biodiversity conservation, and land use planning.
He holds a PhD in Applied Economics from Cornell and previously worked with the Columbia Climate School and the Central Bank of Colombia. His work has been published in Nature Sustainability, Ecological Economics, and Business Strategy and the Environment, among others.

Shaon is a behavioral scientist with over a decade of experience in public health research and impact evaluation. His research focuses on social norms, behavior change, and health equity across diverse global contexts. In his work, he has advised organizations such as the World Bank, UNICEF, and 3ie.
He is currently an Assistant Professor of Public Health at the College of Charleston, and is affiliated with the Center for Social Norms and Behavioral Dynamics at the University of Pennsylvania. Shaon holds a PhD in Public Health from the George Washington University and an MPH from Imperial College London.

Will is the Chief Economist at Ecotone Analytics, where he leads evidence-based impact projections and supports strategy for companies, governments, and nonprofits seeking to understand and maximize the social and environmental value of their investments. His work spans sectors including urban development, finance, workforce, agriculture, and education.
He holds an MPA from Cornell University, where he was an Environmental Finance & Impact Investment Fellow, and a B.S. in Applied Economics from the University of Minnesota. Will has worked with the World Bank, Latin American Think Tanks, and an sustainable agriculture venture in South Asia. He is currently based in Minneapolis.
